Goodreads Summary:
In a novel that’s perfect for fans of Alice Clayton and Emma Chase, Lauren Layne delivers a sexy take on the timeless question: Can a guy and a girl really be “just friends”?

When Parker Blanton meets Ben Olsen during her freshman year of college, the connection is immediate—and platonic. Six years later, they’re still best friends, sharing an apartment in Portland’s trendy Northwest District as they happily settle into adult life. But when Parker’s boyfriend dumps her out of the blue, she starts to wonder about Ben’s no-strings-attached approach to dating. The trouble is, even with Ben as her wingman, Parker can’t seem to get the hang of casual sex—until she tries it with him.

The arrangement works perfectly . . . at first. The sex is mind-blowing, and their friendship remains as solid as ever, without any of the usual messy romantic entanglements. But when Parker’s ex decides he wants her back, Ben is shocked by a fierce stab of possessiveness. And when Ben starts seeing a girl from work, Parker finds herself plagued by unfamiliar jealousy. With their friendship on the rocks for the first time, Parker and Ben face an alarming truth: Maybe they can’t go back. And maybe, deep down, they never want to.

Review

Blurred Lines has quite an enjoyable friend-to-more romance. It was quick, sweet and just a tiny bit angsty.

I loved how Parker and Ben put each other first. They're always thinking of each other which made the development of their relationship believable. Even if they hadn't considered each other as someone other than their respective best friend, things change. They only needed a catalyst to push them forward. (Thank you Lance!) The resulting sexual chemistry between them was explosive yet sweet and tender. Best friends in love. A very apt description!

Being a big advocator to communicating and talking things out, I wasn't a fan of all the misunderstanding and keeping-quiet-about-their-true-feelings Parker and Ben were doing. I understand that it's mostly due to fear (of rejection and ruining their friendship) so I'm happy it kept to a minimal angst level.

I didn't particularly enjoy Parker's ex, Lance. I cannot believe he was still thinking of the other girl even after he got back together with Parker. Thank goodness Parker was already in love with Ben and didn't care about Lance in that way anymore. He is still a douchebag.

For sure give this book a try if friend-to-more romance is your cup of tea. Blurred Lines is fun and satisfying in the best way.
